Help & FAQ
Questions, answered.
Everything owners and office managers ask us before they start - in plain English. Can’t find it? A real person in the UK will reply.
Getting started
Who Burnback is for and what set-up involves.
Who is Burnback for?
UK businesses with roughly 5–10 people and no dedicated marketing person - trades and home services, professional services, hospitality, and independent retail. If marketing is something you or your office manager “fit in” around the real job, it’s for you.
How long does set-up take?
About 15 minutes. Burnback reads your website, Google listing and reviews first, then asks a handful of tap-to-answer questions. You’ll see your first drafted review replies in the same session.
Do I need any marketing experience?
None at all. If you can send an email, you can use Burnback. There’s nothing to design, no strategy to write and no jargon to learn.
I’m on site all day. Can I use it from my phone?
Yes - Burnback is built mobile-first. Most people spend a couple of minutes a week approving drafts from their phone, often between jobs.
Can my office manager run it instead of me?
Absolutely. Many owners set it up and hand day-to-day approvals to whoever runs the office. Paid plans include multiple team members, so you can both keep an eye on it.
How Burnback works
Brand voice, approvals and what the AI actually does.
Is this just another AI content tool?
No. Content tools still ask you to do the work - write, design, schedule. Burnback is the operations layer underneath: it connects your platforms, keeps your brand consistent and runs the weekly workflows. You approve; it does the rest.
Will it sound like a robot?
No. Burnback builds a brand memory from your website, reviews and set-up answers, then writes the way you talk. Every edit you make teaches it, so drafts need less changing each week.
Does anything get posted without my say-so?
Not unless you choose. Everything is approval-based by default. Once you trust it, you can switch on auto-publish for routine things like five-star review thank-yous - and switch it off again any time.
What is “brand memory”?
A structured record of how your business speaks: your services, areas, tone, key messages and words you never use. It guides everything Burnback writes and quietly updates as you edit drafts.
How do I know if it’s working?
Each month you get a one-page, plain-English report: new reviews, enquiries and the time you got back - plus what Burnback will do more of next month. No dashboards to decode.
Reviews & channels
Which platforms we connect to and how reviews are handled.
Which platforms does Burnback connect to?
At launch: Google Business Profile, Trustpilot, Checkatrade, Facebook and LinkedIn. Instagram, Mailchimp and employer review sites (Glassdoor, Indeed) are next.
How does it handle negative reviews?
Carefully. Critical reviews are always flagged for your approval, never auto-published. Burnback drafts a calm, professional reply that acknowledges the issue and offers to put it right - never defensive, never argumentative.
Can it help us get more reviews?
Yes. On paid plans, Burnback sends a friendly review request to happy customers after each job, via the platform that matters most for your business - so good reviews arrive steadily instead of in fits and starts.
Will it keep our Google listing up to date?
Yes. Burnback keeps opening hours, holiday closures, photos, updates and Q&A current, which helps you show up in local “near me” searches.
We already use Canva, Mailchimp or Buffer. Do we have to stop?
No. Burnback is designed to connect to the tools you have rather than replace them. Many businesses find they simply stop needing to open them as often.
Pricing & billing
Plans, trials, annual discounts and cancelling.
How much does Burnback cost?
There’s a free plan with no time limit. Essentials is £30 a month and Unlimited is £100 a month. Pay annually and save 30% - £21 and £70 a month respectively. Prices exclude VAT.
Is there a free trial of the paid plans?
Yes - 14 days of Essentials or Unlimited, no card needed. If it hasn’t saved you time by then, do nothing and you’ll simply move to the Free plan.
How does annual billing work?
You pay for 12 months up front and get 30% off: £252 a year for Essentials or £840 a year for Unlimited.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. Monthly plans can be cancelled at any time and won’t renew. Annual plans run to the end of the paid year. Either way, you keep access to the Free plan.
Is it cheaper than an agency or a part-time marketer?
By a long way. A part-time marketer typically costs £15–20k a year and an agency retainer £1,000+ a month. Burnback does the routine, weekly work for a fraction of that - and never goes on holiday.
Data, privacy & security
Who owns your content and how your data is looked after.
Who owns the content Burnback creates?
You do. Everything drafted for your business - posts, replies, emails and your brand memory - belongs to you, and you can export it at any time.
Is my data used to train public AI models?
No. Your business information is used only to produce work for your business. It isn’t sold, shared with other customers or used to train public AI models.
How do you connect to my accounts?
Through each platform’s official sign-in (for example, “Sign in with Google”). We never see or store your passwords, and you can disconnect any platform with one tap.
Is Burnback UK GDPR compliant?
Burnback is a UK company built for UK businesses, and is designed around UK GDPR from the ground up - including clear data processing terms and the right to have your data deleted.
What happens to my data if I leave?
You can export your brand memory and history, then close your account. Your data is deleted within 30 days (backups roll off within 90), except records such as invoices that UK tax law requires us to keep.
